Class description:
In this class you will learn to create a glass mosaic house sign that can add interest and curb appeal to your home. Learn how to cut glass and how to layout your mosaic design. Class will focus on scrap and re-used glass as tesserae (an individual tile) for mosaic. Students will design and create a glass mosaic sign and leave class with the knowledge to finish their project at home. All glass will be provided. Additional supplies needed. Instructor will contact you by email to discuss glass color choices, number fonts, and suitable surfaces for your mosaic.
Special notes and items to bring:
- Safety glasses,
- Weldbond adhesive,
- Substrate (surface or object
to mosaic such as wood or cement board cut to size).
- Grouting supplies will also be
needed to finish project after class, but do not need to be purchased prior to
coming to class.

- DIY Lounge is located at collage, a locally owned business that sells art supplies with a class space in the back. We have two locations in the Portland, Oregon area.
Visit our locations page addresses and directions. - On average we require a minimum of 3 students to run a class. Class minimums are decided by teachers depending on the needs of the class. If registration is lower, the class will be cancelled and any students who have registered will be notified via email.
- If a class is cancelled we can apply your payment toward another class registration or refund your money in full. Your choice!
- Online pre-registration is required, but exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis. If you require an exception, please use our contact page and let us know your situation.
- At least 48 hour notice is required if you need to cancel your class registration.
- Be sure to check the supply list provided in the class notes and bring those items with you to the class.
