Melissa Woolsey

Melissa creates artsy, collagey, papery things. She recently returned to her hometown of Portland after a 10 year sojourn to New Orleans. Her greatest influences are Harold and the Purple Crayon, Mary Jo McGraw, Louisiana Folk Artists and Hot Tamales candies. Although she has no formal training, she does has a strong belief that creativity is accessible to all who try and that creating art can heal the soul. During the day she is a licensed clinical social worker and by night an instructor in paper arts. She is currently teaching altered book techniques, rubber stamping and paper art techniques. Melissa lives with her two dogs, a corgi and a jack russel/beagel mix and her boyfriend. Future plans - to turn an RV into a rolling art studio and call it an ArtV.
